Looking for that unique piece to complete your funky wardrobe. Looking for a one of a kind piece of art work you can wear. Look no farther than Paris-born, Toronto-based artist Mattieau Maissiaeu. This 25 year old graffitist was a powerhouse in the art world before he got his start in April 2007 when he was asked to paint a line of customized sneakers for Toronto's street chic boutique The Rage. After the stores stock sold out in only five days, the store's owner, Sarah Campbell, decided to make his unique styles a permanent fixture. Thus Missiaeu line Ndeur was born. Nduer offers everything from old-school sneakers to funky pumps with one of a kind street-art-inspired scenes in oil paint on a range of vintage leather footwear. But you don't have to live in Toronto to get these fabulous shoes. Missiaeu takes orders for his unique creations from The Rage's Etsy website. However this isn't like ordering any old mass produced pair of shoes, on the website customers select their shoe size, what type of shoe they want (i.e. pump or sneaker, etc.), then enter a few style requests for a hand-tailored effect, and after a few weeks a pair of custom, hand-painted shoes show up on your porch. Missiaeu takes over and paints the shoes in a graffiti chic unique just to you guaranteed to make you the envy of your school. And the best part is is these unique street chic styles are reasonably priced from $120-180, a true steal for any frugal fashionista.
